If you have regular cleaners for a HMO, so the house doesn't generally need that much cleaning - would you say/do anything if you found out the cleaners were leaving early?
The company we use (self employed small business), either does 1 cleaner for 2 hours, or 2 cleaners for 1 hour. The owner of the business is one of the cleaners.
Lately we've noticed they only have 1 person coming at a time, and staying for roughly 20 minutes before leaving again. We're generally happy with how the house looks, but they never stay longer to do more of a deep clean if they have the time (ie. Clean the showers, or dust around the place, or clean behind bins and that type of thing). It's more of a light clean/vacuum so the house passes casual inspection.
What would you do? Pull them up on it, or just let it slide?
We've gone through so many cleaners over the years so it's hard to find someone that actually does an OK job
Depends on your contract with the cleaners. When sourcing you should specify a schedule of works and frequency for each specific task.
If you contract for a time period then the cleaners should be on site for that specific amount of time.
Just consider it £X paid to keep the house clean.
If X is a reasonable amount of money, let it slide
