I rent privately been here 7 years. The Landlord new been here a Year This place is run down not fit for human habitation. Boiler been operated on a timer since 2018 which became illegal in 2019 as often without hot running water it meets the test.
Council Enforcement visited 4 times 4 of them. Said the boiler had to ne updated to comply with then called British Standards BS6700. This written in the Enforcement Report I believed meant that that it was a Legal Document. The landlord simply left the timer off so we have technically hot water all day.
The new Landlord moving foreign people in 2/3 to a flat with kids, evicting me then will the water back on Communal Scheme. People see the person who weant the Council evicted problem solved. Well that notvery bl00dy fair.
Unbelievable the Council think this job done even though a sample taken from 1 in 3 flats showed up Legionella. Oh that's OK it was negligible.
Day Notice Withdrawn my Section 21arrives. A no fault eviction. I am not protected by the Law.. I may even accept a rent rise but he too scared as I would take him to a tribunal of Peers.
So it not no fault is it. Council not interested technically he didn't follow instructions in the report. As we technically have hot Water.
Clearly because I went the Council I cant now be back dorred can I? He has singled me out and gets to make an example of me. REALLY?
He also taking my right to a tribunal and not giving me an option to stay. Im a fantastic tenant popular no arrears. Any advice welcomed
If as you say that the place is not fit for Human habitation, then why are you trying to stay there ? Just move out and get on with your life in somewhere that is fit for you and comfortable to live in.
Im trying. The private rental Market through the roof. Im disabled and cant work. So I need a Council Property. Im band B. I cant go in to a Shared House. I have a carer to live independently. That not enough for OT to put me in a band A on Medical Grounds.
So I have nowhere to go. Temporary is unsuitable as is a shared House. I only have my Dad here now and he is 80 and we cannot live in the same house, we clash. So ive no alternative but to defend Pocession.
Do you have a social worker for your health needs ? If not you need to get one. They could be able to help you with your housing needs. Good luck.

I just read your above reply, my advice is don’t leave, section 21 takes about a year to go to court, the council will advise you to stay, until they can house you.
Only a court can evict you. If they try and evict you call the police, it’s a criminal offence.
Surley Any Judge when it comes to Pocession will see it a revenge eviction. He is making an example of me. Its discrimination. I have a right to repair.
So basically the rent is 1/10th of the market rate so you want to stay there until it kills you?

You're trying to hand onto a place that you say isn't suitable for Humans to live in?
Let the eviction taken place, Go to the council with your eviction notice and then they'll have to re home you!
The point is I should not he made an example if I complained about essential repairs.
If you hate the property so much, move out!

Comments don't seem to understand the situation. This person is in dire need of assistance from the social sector. The council should be helping at every turn to ensure their well being is looked after. Unfortunately the landlord is under a minimal.duty of care that is unchecked by the council, therefore they have both failed you. Please speak to your carer or anyone who you can ask for help to find a way that solves your situation and find a solution that works for you. Good luck
Thank you. You hit the nail on the head. We have both contacted Adult Social Care. We're talking Rouge Landlord stuff. I only went to the Council at my Wits end. Alot of vulnerable people live here. All being taken advantage of. The Council Came here and agreed with ME. 4 Enforcement Reports later and he didnt even upgrade the Water System to the Correct Specification. They not interested.
