Renting house to council for Temporary accommodation

So i was having viewings for my property and I was approached by a company that rents it to council at a day rate 90 to 100 for a 3 bed. The management company says they will check weekly when a new tenant moves in and gradually move to quarterly if tenant proves suitable. Else they move them out. Has anybody had any experience with this? I have heard never rent to the council...

Absolutely so not do this. Read up on Rent 2 Rent scam.

Also your mortgage lender and insurer will have terms which will tell you that they won't permit it. That in itself tells you what their view of this model is.

Like others said, classic rent to rent scheme. Significantly more risk compared to benefit for you. If shit hits the fan, you will be the one dealing with the shit and cleaning it all and the smell won't go away.

You have no say / control over who lives there.

How will you know they will check weekly ? And if they do find any issues, what guarantees you have besides their word that anything will be done or the tenants will comply. Forget that, tenants won't even allow access as it is not legally required under the law.

Move them out ? Have you tried evicting people who do not want to move ? Yeah, good luck with that, even with current S21, it takes ages.

Why are you even thinking of accepting their offer ?

Will it be operated by Serco? Personally, I couldn’t be complicit in the migrant crisis but the income is juicy

Contact the council to check. Councils are desperate for property but £100 a day is ridiculous and seems far too high. If it’s too good to be true etc..

I would contact the council, but use the number from their website. The flat above me got rented to someone via the council, but it was the council themselves that organised it. Your local council might be outsourcing it, but it's better to check.
