Islington PAT tester - recommendations

Need to get PAT testing done - anyone got any recommended providers. Islington area.

It's possibly only for a freezer and washing machine as that is all we provide that has a plug?

What about the oven, hob and fridge. These are all integrated and hardwired - access to the wired connection points will not be easy without pulling stuff apart (though there is easy access to fused switches to isolate the items quickly if necessary)

Unless someone is telling you to get PAT testing done, there is no need. A thorough visual inspection ensuring no damage, especially to the flex should be sufficient.

It's mentioned as a requirement under the Islington selective license we require to rent which is in force in the area this property is located?

Even hse say it shouldn’t be a legal requirement and should be based on a risk assessed approach. Modern fridges are very safe and as you don’t regularly move them, the risk of damage to the flex is minimal. A domestic fridge will go its entire service life without needing any intervention or testing, but the PAT test industry has councils convinced that if you don’t get a teenager who has done a 6 hour course to put a green sticker on it, it isn’t safe.

As far as I can tell The selective licensing conditions do not explicitly mention PAT testing as a requirement for landlords to obtain a license. They do require them for portable applicances that the landlord/agent has provided but simply dont.
