Tenancy agreement

Hi there everyone, my tenant is staying at the property and I need to do another tenancy agreement. I previously got an estate agent to write it with some rules regarding things such as cats as-well as guarantor agreement.

Am I able to reuse these documents and just add a new page to sign and dates? Also unsure if now I have to change it from 12 months due to new rules possibly.

Thanks in advance :)

No reason why you can’t just update the existing document. You don’t need to change it to account for possible future changes in legislation.

But are you aware that there’s no need to issue a new agreement; you just leave the existing one to become ‘periodic’, or month-to-month. Effectively you need to give the tenants 2 months’ notice to quit, and they need to give you 1.

Ah I got you. So if I left it to become periodic with no signing of a new agreement etc I’m guessing the tenancy agreement is still legally binding with everything included?
